The other day, I heard some soul say the words, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes and it will change.” I understand the intended humor in such a statement, but it is wasted on me. I simply don’t find such humor funny.
But, I did get to thinking about the phrase the other day and it’s use. In this case, it was used to describe the meteorology of a northern state that shall remain unnamed in this blog. But I have also heard this phrase used to describe the weather in the state in which andythinks was reared, as well as the state in which I currently reside.
This makes one ask the question, [Ed. not begs the question, which is very commonly misused] is there a geographical location in which this phrase would not work. Is there a place in which the more appropriate phrase would be, “If you don’t like the weather, leave.” Maybe Arizona?
So, nothing since Thanksgiving? Afraid you’ll hurt people’s feelings if you blog about Christmas and all the chaos. Come on! Be Brave! It helps to get it out!!!!
