pomp and circumstance like we have rarely seen before.

I’m sorry if you feel neglected, [Ed. like there is anyone who reads this thing daily] maybe it will help to know that I am so tired of typing after two papers and two powerpoint presentations that I want to do anything but sit in front of this laptop and write anything.  But, I am determined to carry on and even more determined to meet my goal of three to four times a week.

So, as I said, this week was rather hard, but I have survived.  Have you ever had one of those days where you keep asking yourself, ‘Can I get dressed for bed, yet?’ [Ed. Every time I have to edit this blog…]

I had to go to the library this morning.  I hate to go to the library.  Mostly because of the people who work there.  I am sorry if you are reading this and you are a librarian, but it is my experience that people who work in our library, take their job way too seriously.  It seems as if the ‘rules’ of the library supersede even the rules of common sense at times.  I wonder at the people who chose to make these ‘library rules’ the passion of their life.  Now, I get the book thing, because I am drawn to bookstores like Paris Hilton is drawn to a tawdry publicity stunt.  I just don’t get all the rules and the out-of-place grandiosity to a minimum-wage job.  I mean, let’s be real, sometimes you just gotta throw caution to the wind and eat a potato chip while reading a book.  Rather, in our library, you see things being taken far too seriously and with a more pretentious attitude than ever thought possible.

[Ed. DISCLAIMER: The author likes librarians as a general rule, just the ones at his particular  institution of higher learning tend to hit his blogging buttons]

So the end of this blog leaves me, dear readers, with a dilemma.  First of all, in order to meet this blasted goal that I have set for myself I have to write.  Not only that but I have to blog both tomorrow and the next day.

  1. Oh, thank goodness you are back! I’ve been waiting and waiting. I checked at least 100 times yesterday just hoping & hoping that there would be a new blog for me to read. Okay, so not really, but I wanted to encourage you to keep at it ’cause you are really good at it and your blog is entertaining. Love you!
